Ribeira

Being the most popular neighborhood in Porto, Ribeira is filled with restaurants and gorgeous house. While in Ribeira don’t forget to walk along the beautiful Douro River. Usually this will be the first stop for tourists since it is full of Porto’s tradition and culture. Here you enjoy watching the ships carry the barrels of Port wine and also witness an extraordinary sunset.

Baixa

In Baixa you can find most of the city’s landmarks. You can enjoy the ‘Azulejo’ tiles on many of the buildings. The Sau Bento Station isn’t an ordinary railway station. Usually most of the people at a station are either going somewhere or coming. At ‘Sau Bento’ most the people are admiring the art on the walls. These walls tell the history of Porto, and you can even get a tour of the station. Another thing to do is to climb the 240 stairs of the Clérigos Tower for one of the most stunning views around the city.

Foz do Douro

Wonderful Atlantic Ocean beaches is a great thing to see and experience in Porto. How do you get here? On an unforgettable ride on the tram. Cool off here during the summer with a cold drink at the bars. We recommend something with Jin.

Miragaia

Similar to ‘Ribeira’ you have colorful houses next to the river. This neighborhood was in the past the home for Jewish and Armenian communities.

Vila Nova de Gaia

Technically outside Porto, however it is so close, so we added it to the list. Offering some of the best views around the city and wonderful locations for wine testing. Most of the wineries are located here. We recommend paying attention to the restaurants as well.
