Nightlife in Porto
If you feel like going out at night and having fun in one or more of Porto’s night venues, here’s the list for you! The number of bars and clubs that open in the city don’t stop growing and give an amazing night out. There are places for everyone. Quiet, crazy, cheap, expensive Etc.
Galerias de Paris
Rua da Galeria da Paris is a street where everything starts. During the day you won’t see a soul here, however, at night the place gets kind of crazy. It is important to know that nightlife in Porto starts a bit late, around 11:30 people start coming out. There are lots of bars on this street where you can get a drink. Galeria de Paris restaurant-bar is the most popular place in the area. The vintage furniture and original design attracks people from everywhere.
O Mais Velho
If you’re looking to get really drunk, here you can get the best shots in the city, since the size is bigger than usual. Great drink combos made from high shelf alcohol. An ordinary person will just get tequila shots, but the people who really want to try something insane will get a “Devil’s Blood”(only for the brave). It’s a good place to start the night with great music. Note one thing, the prices here are good so there usually is a line to the bar.
Adega Leonor
This bar located next to the University is very popular among the students in the city. It even has a wall decorated with expired Erasmus IDs. And the rooftop is filled with flags from different football teams. The real reason it is so popular is the prices, really cheap! And the staff are great too.
MaoMaria
Great young vibes into the late night. This bar gives you an option to come early if you want a good cocktail, or late if you also want to dance to international pop and Portugal hits.
Casa do Livro
What was once a bookstore is today great bar. Books are part of the interior design. Normally you will see intellectual travelers enjoy their evening at this bar to the sounds of Jazz, blues and Bosa-Nova, sometimes also a live show. As the hour gets late, the DJ starts taking control.
Café au Lait
Here is a great place to go at any point of the evening. It’s the type of place where you can start the evening at and stay till the early hours of the morning. Generally, the music is Electronic, but that changes at some days. The place is quite small, but if there aren’t too many people, you can also dance. One of the best bars in Galerias de Paris.
Plano B
This place has everything! A strong connection to the community, art exhibits and insane music which will get you dancing until dawn. There are two floors where every room has a different music style. The top floor is a more relaxed atmosphere.
Gare Club
Known to be one of the best night clubs in Europe with its electronic music and underground culture. Friday nights they alternate between the drum’n’bass and house music, and on Saturdays they are devoted to techno music. the place is highly recommended to spend the late hours of the night.
Maus Habitos
This place is one of the local’s secrets. Its hidden away on the fourth floor of a parking lot. This restaurant\art gallery\ night club can get you dinner, drinks, and insane music to dance to until the late hours of the night.
